Job Description

This is a non-merit position with the Department of Human Services - Woodward Resource Center . Candidates must follow the instructions in the "To Apply" section.

Positions in this class are exempt from the screening and referral requirements of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services - Human Resources Enterprise.

NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY, WE TRAIN

Woodward Resource Center provides an environment dedicated to preparing and supporting adults with intellectual disabilities and other disabilities to gain sufficient independence to live in the community of their choice. Resident Treatment Workers (RTWs) perform basic para-professional nursing or therapeutic work in the care or treatment of Individuals at Woodward Resource Center for the elderly, intellectually disabled, or mentally ill.

This TEMPORARY position works AS NEEDED; limited to 780 hours per fiscal year.

Description of work:

  • Take appropriate action per DHS/WRC policies, procedures and work rules to ensure the rights of Individuals.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of appropriate management and training techniques so that Individuals are protected and their training needs are addressed.

  • Provide continuous active treatment programs to each Individual so that each may function with as much independence and self-determination as possible.

  • Follow accepted health care and sanitation procedures so that Individuals reside in a safe, secure, and healthy environment.

  • Complete administrative procedures and related duties so the work environment enhances the WRC mission.

  • Other duties as assigned.

No specific education or experience is required.
