GENERAL SUMMARY :

Under supervision, the CT Team Leader assists with CT equipment, training, and education in accordance with Iowa Heart Center practices. Provides professional care to patients following established protocol for patients of the Iowa Heart Center.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  • Performs all essential functions of the CT Technologist.

  • Demonstrates expertise in operating all CT equipment.

  • Provides guidance to technical staff regarding testing and use of equipment.

  • Assists Manager with staff rotation and vacation schedule.

  • Assists with demonstrations of new equipment and interacts with sales representatives regarding demonstrations.

  • Advises the department director in matters relating to CT testing and equipment.

  • Interacts with physicians regarding CT testing quality and protocols.

  • Assists with training of new members of the CT testing staff.

  • Coordinates CT department meetings.

  • Remains current on CT testing issues and technology and disseminates information to the staff.

  • Leads CT department accreditation process.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLSAND ABILITIES REQUIRED :

  • Successful completion of anaccredited two year Radiologic Technology program.

  • Registry eligible orRegistered Radiologic Technologist

  • Maintains current IowaPermit to Practice

  • Maintains active registrystatus in ARRT

  • Participates in professional society (i.e., ISRT orSCD)

  • 1 CEU per year in Radiation Safety/24 CEU’s every 2years

  • 3 years of experience

  • Attainment of Computed Tomography subspecialtycertification

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for theHealthcare Provider certified or obtained within three (3)months ofhire.

  • Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse trainingspecific to population servewithin three (3) months of hire.
