Waverly Health Center Order Verification Representative .45 FTE in Waverly, Iowa

SCHEDULE

FTE: .45, with the potential to work from home.

1st shift, Monday-Friday. Hours will be 13:00 - 17:00. Will need to be flexible to ensure sufficient coverage when other rep is absent. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

Review incoming orders for outpatient services to be provided at Waverly Health Center (WHC) for validity, completeness, and accuracy and make them available to those who need them in a timely manner to ensure quality patient care and minimize patient wait time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education, Experience, and Training

  • Successful completion of medical secretary or medical assistant program completion preferred; certification not required.

  • Minimum of two years medical office experience in referral or coding position preferred.

  • Health insurance knowledge preferred.

  • Must convey a positive image and communicate tactfully and professionally with providers, patients, clinic staff and public.

  • Must be accurate and pay close attention to details.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Must possess strong organizational skills and work without close supervision.

  • Ability to learn and navigate computer systems including online training modules, employee timesheet and the performance appraisal system. Job specific systems are also required.

  • Able to read, speak, and write fluent English.

  • Physical Requirements

  • Sitting – Approximately 100% of shift.

  • Standing – Not a requirement.

  • Twisting – Not a requirement.

  • Bending – Infrequent.

  • Squat/Kneel – Not a requirement.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • May come in contact with hazardous chemicals or treatment modalities.

  • The possibility exists of exposure to communicable disease due to working in a healthcare environment.

  • Involvement in patient care may result in unavoidable work-related illnesses.
