A Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant, under the direction of the Manager of Rehab Services, is responsible for assisting a Licensed Physical Therapist with patient treatment programs and for applying modalities.
Assists Licensed Physical Therapist in patient treatments with modalities, exercise, ambulation, patient and family teaching, hydrotherapy, and activities of daily living skills
Applies and removes modalities including whirlpools, cold packs, infrared, ultrasound, cervical traction, contrasts baths, ice massage, ultraviolet medcosound, massage, hot packs, paraffin baths, diathermy, and tilt table.
Iowa Physical Therapy Assistant License required
To maintain position, associate must participate in an informal orientated of 3-6 months covering department policies and procedures, skills in recognizing patient distress, and review principles, purpose, application, indication, contraindications, and physiologic reactions of modalities and treatment procedures
