Req Ref No: JNIAME26 Location: Waterloo, IA Duration: 24.5 months Description Description: MAJOR PURPOSE: Plans, coordinates, and performs manufacturing engineering work for a project or process. Operates in a team environment within either the enterprise product delivery process or the enterprise order fulfillment process. At this level, projects are of moderate scope and responsibility or may be a significant portion of a major and diverse project or process; decisions are made within established guidelines and may be reviewed by supervisors and/or managers. May assign, coordinate and review portions of the work for support personnel, contractors and suppliers. MAJOR DUTIES: Description of the major duties performed in this job. * Establishes routings, methods, layouts, tools, costs, methods documentation, quality plans and labor standards for revisions to current operations and/or new parts or programs of moderate scope. * Provides support and trouble shooting for current operations. Investigates, gathers and analyze data and implement solutions. * Innovates and implements cost reduction, quality, safety and ergonomic improvement ideas of moderate scope. * Applies electronic tools across a broad range of applications, including e-builds, modeling and simulations. * Develops and implements plans to support lean manufacturing through the client Production System of moderate scope. Designs operations layouts. Improves material flow and material presentation. * Leads team studies related to capacity, energy, productivity and efficiency of moderate scope. * Leads analysis, development and implementation of new manufacturing processes and technology. * Analyzes and makes modifications to existing performance pay plans; assists in development of baseline data for new performance pay plans. Specific Position Requirement EFES Contingent Engineering Position (Facilities) Primary Position Responsibilities & Duties The primary responsibility for this position is to provide overall project management services and engineering solutions as related to facility changes and improvements at manufacturing facilities. Experience with Manufacturing Engineering or Maintenance is recommended. Cross function experience in other areas, such as Supply Management, Quality, Environment, or Safety is desirable. Some specific duties of this position are: • Work with non-mobile material handling equipment application, engineering, and installation • Machine tool and process equipment layout and installation • Coordination, planning, and management of multi-discipline projects • Consulting and coordination towards dynamic factory master planning efforts Required Skills, Knowledge & Relevant Work Experience • Manager looking for Civil Engineering degrees with Construction Management emphasis or Mechanical Engineering degree with Manufacturing emphasis • Experience in project management • Cross competency experience with either Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Supervision, and/or Maintenance Engineering • Experience in coordinating multiple skilled trades and contractors to achieve project objectives (5+ years) • Background in building infrastructure systems (mechanical, electrical, structural) (3+ years) • Understanding of engineering principles as related to manufacturing operations (3+ years) • Working knowledge of non-mobile material handling systems (cranes, jibs, monorails, conveyors) • Good communication and teamwork skills • Ability to prioritize multiple active projects simultaneously • Ability to work with of personnel and middle management to communicate and coordinate project activities. Capability to create and deliver presentations of projects and process subjects • Skill in using computer aided design and/or engineering tools • Knowledge of OSHA Safety standards 1st shift position (7 am to 3:30 pm) with possible weekend overtime work, depending on needs.
