Pipestone System Companion Animal Associate Veterinarian in United States

##Job Description Objective:To provide outstanding veterinary care and service to the patients and clients of Pipestone Veterinary Services. Reporting: The Associate Veterinarian performs under the guidance and supervision of the Managing Veterinarian of Pipestone Veterinary Services of Ottumwa PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITES 1. Develop and maintain trusted and effective client relationships. 2. Generate an accurate diagnosis through taking a good oral history, effectively performing a thorough physical examination, conducting appropriate diagnostic tests, and use of other necessary tools. 3. Determine and communicate most effective treatment options and work with client to arrive at the best treatment plan. 4. Execute treatment plans and monitor patient progress/outcomes. 5. Practice high quality veterinary medicine and surgery. 6. Develop and promote preventative health programs, including vaccination plans and parasite control programs. 7. Encourage positive culture with clients and employees in a manner that shows sensitivity, tact and professionalism while pushing towards the best results possible. 8. Provide guidance and leadership to the healthcare team that will positively influence the level of care and service provided to the clients and patients of Pipestone Veterinary Services. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Possess a broad base of knowledge and skills requisite for the practice of veterinary medicine. 2. Keep abreast of industry developments and apply best practices to areas of improvement 3. Demonstrate a scientific approach that is accompanied by ethical and professional attitudes, behaviors and moral principles that are consistent with Pipestone core values 4. Work with the team to develop and implement standard operating procedures to ensure profitability and high quality care for our clients. 5. Demonstrate the ability to communicate, present, and influence credibly and effectively to team members and clients. POSITION SPECIFICATIONS Education: *Must possess a DVM * Work* Environment:* * Companion animal clinic with boarding and grooming areas. * Noise levels that require hearing protection in some areas Physical* Requirements:* * Standing, walking and ability to be on feet 8 to 10 hours per day * Frequent bending, reaching, squatting and kneeling * Frequent use of one or both hands/arms to grasp or pull * Frequent lifting of objects weighing 3-20 pounds * Occasional bending while pulling and/or lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds, or requiring up to 50 pounds of force to move * Occasional bending while pulling and/or lifting objects weighing up to 100 pounds or requiring up to 100 pounds of force to move with the assistance of another person as needed * Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing * Ability to attend and participate in meetings of various lengths Additional *Requirements: *Must live no farther than 45 minutes driving distance from the clinic Must have valid driver’s license FULL-TIME: Part-time Job Title: Companion Animal Associate Veterinarian Location: PVC of Ottumwa-10202 Req Num: 21-319
