Pella Regional Health Center Spiritual Services Associate in Pella, Iowa
The Spiritual Services Associate provides pastoral care for patients of all age groups (neonate through geriatric) and their families who use the services of Pella Regional Health Center. The Spiritual Services Associate will consult with other staff who assess and refer the spiritual and emotional needs/desires of patients and their families to the Spiritual Services Associate and/or Coordinator. He/She serves as a resource for physicians, staff and administration as needed.
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities:
v Completion of clinical pastoral experience, or the ability to begin this process within his/her first year of employment and complete these courses/experiences within a reasonable period of time.
v Ordained highly preferred and/or prior experience in a parish setting where pastoral care included hospital, hospice and visits to home-bound, long term care or hospitalized members is highly preferred.
v Clinical training and/or education with Hospice is also, highly preferred.
v Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
v Must be an effective communicator, both orally and in writing.
v Must display an exceptionally high level of positive and appropriate interpersonal skills with all types of persons and personalities, including all levels of employees (staff, administration and medical staff).
v Must be open-minded regarding alternate religions.
v Must have solid presentation skills.
v Must demonstrate age-specific communication skills with all ages, including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatric adults.
v Basic computer knowledge and skills.
v Ability to work with physicians in a collaborative manner.
v Ability to communicate with tact and professionalism.
