Job Description

PSYCHOLOGIST 3

This position will perform Psychologist 3 responsibilities at the Iowa Correctional Institution for Women(ICIW)inMitchellville Iowa.

The mission of Iowa Correctional Instiution for Women is “Creating an environment that reflects an understanding of the realities of women's lives and empowers them to make positive change and return to the community as healthier productive citizens.”

Iowa Correctional Institution for Women offers evidence based assessments, interventions and opportunities considering risk, need and responsivity. Iowa Correctional Institution for women is committed to providing opportunities and interventions to participants that impact behavior change. The Psychologist team is an integral part of a multidisciplinary team at Iowa Correctional Institution for Women that work towards the mission together.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a doctorate degree in psychology, behavior analysis, or counseling, and experience equal to two years of full-time clinical work in the provision of counseling and therapy in an institutional or community mental health, intellectual disability, long-term care, or correctional program.

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master's degree in psychology, behavior analysis, or counseling, and experience equal to four years of full-time clinical work in the provision of counseling and therapy in an institutional or community mental health, intellectual disability, long-term care, or correctional program.

  • Possession of a license to practice psychology from the Iowa Board of Psychology.

  • Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes eighteen months of full-time work as a Psychologist 2.
