EHS (Environmental, Health and Safety) Specialist - Safco CategorySafety/EnvironmentalJob LocationMilford, IAPosition TypeFull-Time/RegularCome join our team as an EHS Specialist. In this role you will provide development, implementation and continuous improvement of all health and safety standard operating procedures, programs and initiatives for Safco-Milford manufacturing facility, while aiding other Safco locations with the same. They will partner with corporate EHS to assist with projects and program implementation and ensure that management and employees are in compliance with federal, state and local EHS rules and regulations. This full-time position reports directly to the Continuous Improvement Manager and is located in Safcos main manufacturing location Milford, Iowa.Other Safco locations include our Corporate Office in New Hope, Minnesota, an additional manufacturing location in Atlanta, Georgia and various (3) distribution centers located in Minnesota, California, and Virginia. IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL: Develop and implement safety programs to reduce or eliminate industrial accident and health hazards. Coordinate Safco-Milford and assist with all Safco locations. Track, analyze, and report safety statistics/information.Direct audits and reviews of EHS programs at Safco-Milford to identify and control significant loss producing exposure.Promote communication programs to enhance and encourage employee participation in and awareness of safety requirements and improvements for all Safco locations.Help Safco-Milford set and achieve EHS goals and monitor key performance metrics.Drives corrective actions and key projects for any identified EHS opportunities.Lead and coordinate the activities of the safety committee and emergency response team.Ensure regulatory compliance of all EHS programs.Prepare and distribute safety and educational materials for all Safco locations.Establish, oversee and/or deliver training on OSHA required and other safety topics. Coordinate training materials for all Safco locations.Maintain records and system compliance.Develop and conduct periodic audits/inspections of workplace facilities.Recommend corrective action as a results of audits.Use TAPROOT practices to investigate accidents/injuries20% travel required (+/- 10%), mostly regional, some day trips, mostly overnight Other duties as assigned.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:Compliance with all legal and regulatory necessitiesOSHA Incident and lost time ratesContinuous improvement of polices and proceduresContinuous improvement of plant safety (i.e. elimination of hazards)Keeping cost of issues related to safety lowRequired SkillsYou WILL excel in this role if:Lean toward the internal customer with care.
