Description:

The Valet Parking Attendant provides assistance, direction, and other guest services to all patients and visitors. Responds to requests for customer service and maintains a positive public image as an initial point of contact for customers.

This position will support the ER 2pm to 10 pm Monday thru Friday

Essential Job Functional Competencies:

  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide service/care appropriate to the age of the patients served, in accordance with Mercy standards.

  • Performs valet services of parking, retrieving, and delivering customers vehicles.

  • Greets and welcomes customers facilitating their access to and use of the hospital.

  • Handles valet tickets, keys, and equipment in accordance with departmental policy.

  • Ensures a clean and safe working area by keeping the area neat and free of debris, snow, litter, or any other hazards.

  • Records activities and responses on the daily report form, completing maintenance requisitions and incident reports as required.

  • Functions as an important member of the Mercy Air Care ground support team, securing the landing pad and transporting the patients as needed.

  • Recognizes and communicates issues/occurrences utilizing established lines of authority, and assists in identifying ways to resolve variances or unacceptable outcomes.

  • Actively participates in department meetings, committees, conferences, and in-services.

  • Driving is an essential job function. If a person loses his/her license he/she will not be able to execute their required job functions.(Driver Safety Program)

  • Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Mercy and Trinity Health Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.

  • Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Mercy and Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior.

  • Maintains confidentiality of information pertaining to clients, physicians, employees, and Mercy business.

  • Demonstrates general working knowledge of computers and department specific software (i.e. Healthstream, internet, etc.)

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent

  • Valid Driver's license with motor vehicle record that meets requirements of Safe Driver Policy

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and effectively work in all types of weather conditions.

  • Must have a general working knowledge of computers and department specific software (i.e. Healthstream, internet, etc.)

  • Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.

  • Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of Mercy and Trinity Health.
