Job Description Details:
This position accepts the responsibility and accountability for the delivery of patient care with the multidisciplinary team while using the nursing process and maintaining professional nursing standards. Perinatal Nurse is specifically responsible for the care of the maternal – newborn patient needing services within the scope of pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum, and newborn phases.
Current RN licensure in the state of Iowa.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
Previous experience in obstetric care and / or acute care preferred.
Special Skills and Competencies:
Required successful certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring via National Certification Center (NCC) within 1 year of starting orientation to the Labor and Delivery area and maintains certification.
Preferred certification in obstetric nursing care ( ie CCRN, CEN, etc. (from the Magnet approved certification s)
Ability to work on multiple projects at one time and flexibility to meet department needs.
Self-motivated, detail oriented individual able to work with minimum supervision.
Competitive wages; including weekend and night differentials
