Evaluates patients and develops occupational therapy treatment programs in collaboration with the physician and provides occupational therapy treatments to patients. Administers complex active and passive therapeutic exercise, ADL retraining, and various cognitive techniques. Instructs, motivates and assists patients in learning and improving activities of daily living. Sets realistic and achievable goals for the patients, documents the patients condition and educate patients and families. Collaborates and communicates with other therapist in the provision of rehabilitation services.
Job Description Details:
Graduate of accredited Occupational Therapist Program. Current license in Iowa and Illinois. Maintains a valid driver’s license. Must provide current, valid auto insurance. Must have certification in BLS prior to patient contact. At least one year experience as an OT; Home Care experience preferred. Completion of required supervised clinical experience. Must be able to use and operate medical and/or office equipment, including Point of Care devices. Must have knowledge of the assessment and treatment of physical problem solving and decision-making skills. Must have knowledge of service criteria for home care patients according to department policies and procedures, Medicare guidelines, JCAHO standards and other regulatory requirements. Must be able to work independently and execute own workload. Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to adjust daily patient schedule when unexpected problems occur. Must be able to demonstrate basic computer skills in a Windows environment. Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment. Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission and vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health.
