Trinity Health Insurance/Bookkeeper - Pharmacy Central Billing - Part Time - Days in Mason City, Iowa

Description:

Position Purpose:

Works as part of a team to complete accurate insurance billing and bookkeeping functions vital to the management of the MercyOne North Iowa Outpatient Pharmacies.

What you will Do:

  • Greets and assists patients/customers in person and on the phone in a professional and confidential manner.

  • Communicates effectively with colleagues and customers alike, being a good listener and adjusting style as needed

  • Represents Mercy Family Pharmacies in a courteous, friendly, and caring manner

  • Performs duties with flexibility, adapting to changing schedules and needs of the customers, prioritizing work load accordingly

  • Contacts 3rd party payers or physician offices as appropriate to resolve third party prescription payment issues (including prior authorization, step therapy, processing questions etc)

  • Operates pharmacy dispensing and POS technology as needed to complete required job functions.

  • Completes daily, weekly, monthly and yearly financial/banking/accounts receivable duties. (Including bank deposits, account reconciliation, monthly statements, financial reporting etc.)

Hours/Schedule:

Part Time, (20) hours / week. Department hours are 7:30am-5:00pm Monday-Friday - there is some flexibility with work hours being part time. No weekends or holidays.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required

  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification is preferred

  • Accounting, finance, or business degree/education preferred

  • Retail or Long Term Care Pharmacy Technician experience is preferred

  • Retail or Long Term Care billing experience is preferred

  • Background in finance, accounting, or bookkeeping is preferred

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Proficient in mathematical and bookkeeping skills

  • Must be detail oriented
