Mt. Ascutney Hospital Registered Nurse (House Supervisor)- Sign on Bonus in Manchester, Iowa
Registered Nurse- Sign on Bonus- $1500 after 90 days of hire/$1500 after 1-year of hire
QUALIFICATIONS:
Registered Nurse with a current license to practice in the State of Iowa
Three or more years of nursing experience
BSN preferred
Current CPR, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certification required
Child and Dependent Adult Mandatory Reporter Training required
This position reports to the Acute Care Director.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Assumes responsibility for the direction and coordination for all nursing activities for the assigned shift(s)
Assumes responsibility for department staffing and coordinates staffing needs for the next shift
Acts to conserve the human and material resources of the facility
Obtains medications, drugs from Omnicell/pharmacy after hours in accordance with hospital, state and federal regulations.
Acquires, disseminates knowledge of patients condition through shift report activities
Acts as an advocate for patient and promotes patient safety initiatives
Participates in performance improvement initiatives, infection control, quality, and risk management functions
Makes rounds to all nursing care areas throughout shift to assist in the evaluation and provision of care to patients
Assesses patients and consults with care-givers to maintain knowledge of the patient’s condition
Assists staff in planning and meeting the goals of the patient
Assists charge nurse in making provider rounds and performs the duties of a Registered Nurse on Med-Surg/ICU/OB, when necessary
Assist with triage in Emergency Room department
Will assist as needed in OB, ER, Med-Surg/ICU, and Procedure Center
During the night shift, will perform duties of charge person on Med-Surg/ICU
Responds to CODE BLUE and emergency situations or delegates such
Provides controlled visitation
Responsible for obtaining accurate count of number of beds/cribs available on the inpatient unit
Interprets and evaluates patient-related information and responds to such
Initiates/completes variance reporting functions for the shift
Assists with administrative tasks and serves on hospital committees as delegated
Assists Clinical Nurse Instructor with clinical nurse rotation
Assists in the orientation of new employees
Continues professional development by participating in inservice and continuing education activities
Assists with selection, use, maintenance and repair of department equipment
Acts as the primary role and begins implementation of communication during a disaster or disaster drill
Assists with facilitating efficient transfer of patients between departments and facilities when deemed necessary.
