Regional Medical Center Outpatient Clinic Coordinator (RN Required) in Manchester, Iowa

This position is responsible for the coordination of clinical functions and patient care in the Regional Medical Center Procedure Center, Wound Clinic and Pain Clinic in accordance with hospital standards and policies. # Qualifications Registered Nurse currently licensed to practice in the state of Iowa Three or more years acute care, surgical or infusion center nursing experience preferred Supervisor or leadership experience preferred CPR required ACLS preferred Excellent IV skills, with experience using PICC and infusaports Oncology experience, preferred Child and Dependent Adult Mandatory Reporting Training required Accountability Reports to Acute Care Director # Position Requirements Practices Nursing Standard of Care Coordinates daily operations of the Procedure Center, Wound# and Pain Clinics Provides direct patient cares in clinics based on staff schedules Coordinates staff scheduling with other Managers/Coordinators as needed Knowledge of Pain Clinic, Wound Clinic and Procedure Center in order to work as staff in these clinics as needed Coordinates and attends staff meetings, in addition to Nursing Leadership meetings Completes schedules in collaboration with other managers/coordinators Completes performance appraisals, corrective actions, and assist with disciplinary actions when needed Provides input and assist with managing budget for clinics Assists with development, revision, and implementation of policies and protocols for clinics Educates, orients and trains staff to work in clinics Reviews and approves employee time cards and other Kronos related documentation Applies effective communication skills with medical staff, hospital personnel, patients and family members Acts as patient advocate Performs patient teaching pertinent to the procedures and patient#s diagnosis Able to perform admission and on-going patient assessments to identify patient needs and factors that may be affecting patient#s health status Able to recognize, report and respond to critical changes in patient condition Excellent knowledge and competence with aseptic technique Able to manage, access, assess PICC lines, midlines and infusaport devices Responsible for carrying out provider orders Assists with prior authorizations and meeting requirements for proper billing procedures Evaluates order of medications for appropriateness Communicates# and coordinates with pharmacy regarding procedures/ medications and schedules Assists with quality management and process improvement Reports needs of new equipment or repairs needed of current equipment Demonstrates ability to tactfully handle difficult situations, remain calm even if a visitor or coworker is upset Evaluates labs and other relevant patient data Collaborates with other health team members to evaluate and adjust patient plan of care as needed Responsible for adequate documentation regarding patient#s care/procedures Responsible for adequate charging processes for procedures and materials/supplies Ensures areas have adequate supplies necessary to perform procedures/ patient care Assists with marketing activities as needed # Coordinator Expectations As assigned, completes or assists with the following; Employee performance evaluations Employee timecards Employee coaching and discipline procedures Employee recognition Employee orientation Contract and service agreement oversight Employee scheduling Strives to be a respected leader for the team Serves as a role model and liaison in collaborating with other departments Promotes adherence to RMC policies and procedures Represents and supports employees Promotes educational learning opportunities
