Mt. Ascutney Hospital Manager - Med Surg/ICU in Manchester, Iowa
Full-time, Exempt Status
The Med Surg/ICU Manager assumes administrative and clinical responsibility for the operations of the department. This position recommends and implements changes to improve delivery of services. This position participates as a member of the RMC Leadership Team in planning, policy formulation and administrative decision making to assure quality services.
Qualifications:
Registered Nurse currently licensed in the State of Iowa
Bachelor of Science in Nursing required, Master's Degree preferred
Five or more years of Med/Surg, ICU and telemetry experience required
CPR certification
ACLS, PALS required, NRP preferred
Child and Dependent Adult Mandatory Reporter Training required
POSITION SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
May perform the duties of a Primary or Charge nurse as needed to fulfill the staffing requirements of the department.
Direct department meetings for Med Surg/ ICU
Directs and supervises Case Management (utilization review and discharge planning)
Delegates duties as needed for specific functions required by State Department of Inspection & Appeals, etc.
Completes employee Stay Interviews/performance reviews
Promotes team atmosphere
Manages FTE allotments/department schedule for appropriate staffing
Reviews employee timecards
Fosters effective communication skills with hospitalists, surgeons, providers, and RMC staff
ACCOUNTABILITY: Reports to Acute Care Director
DIRECT REPORTS: Med Surg/ICU Coordinator, RN ICU, RN Med Surg, Med Surg Certified Nursing Assistant, Med Surg Social Worker, Med Surg Unit Secretary, Case Manager
