The Protein Core Facility of Corteva Agriscience™, Agriculture Division of DowDuPont™, provides protein expression, purification, and characterization support for projects ranging from discovery research to advanced product testing and regulatory submissions. We deliver high quality protein that meet our customers’ needs. We utilize high-throughput screening processes, a variety of protein expression systems, a wide range of purification techniques including affinity and conventional chromatography, and advanced protein characterize techniques to produce high quality protein within business timelines. We actively interact across functions to meet business needs. The group is consisted of researchers with various skill sets and state-of-art equipment. We are seeking a Senior Research Associate with a high standard of work ethics who will not only provides protein production support but also brings new technologies and capabilities into the group .

  • Works in conjunction with groupleader to establish project goals consistent with business goals whichreflect internal and external customer needs.

  • Provides protein expression, purification,and characterization support to customer needs.

  • Provides scientific leadership,creativity, and management when designing, initiating, and executingresearch within/across projects.

  • Monitors research progress andmeets with participating researchers to identify problems and developsolutions.

  • Communicates with ResearchLeadership, Business Unit contacts and collaborators on progress ofassigned projects and makes recommendations.

  • Remains current on newtechnology by participating in professional meetings, career developmentactivities, and by bringing information/technology into researchactivities.

  • Implements and monitors safeworking practices.

Other Duties:

  • Controls, maintains, and isaccountable for research facilities, equipment and other resources.

  • Serves on cross-functional teamsto support research initiatives.

  • May contribute to scientific publications,conferences and patent applications

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in scientificfield and minimum of 4-6 years industry related experience required.PhD in scientific field and minimum of 1-3 years industry relatedexperience or relevant amounts of education and experiencepreferred. Post-doctoral experience may serve as industry relatedexperience

  • Extensive protein biochemistryexpertise; proficient protein characterization skills; expertise incircular dichroism spectroscopy is a plus

  • Experience of recombinantprotein expression and purification; knowledge of non-traditionalrecombinant protein expression systems; membrane protein expression,purification and characterization; protein-protein interaction andprotein-ligand binding assays

  • Excellent communication andinterpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated ability to succeedin a dynamic, fast-paced research environment

  • Strong computer skills(Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
