POSITION SUMMARY:Provides comprehensive and family-centered orthotics services including assessments, community marketing, fabrication, assembly, repairs, and education.SCHEDULE:Daytime Monday-Friday. Hours are flexible to meet the needs of the clients and position expectations.POSITION EXPECTATIONS:

  • Performs client orthotic assessments in collaboration with the care team or independently to determine the best possible orthotic intervention based client’s needs and resources

  • Completes orthotic fabrication, fitting, maintenance, and repair based on the needs and strengths determined in the assessment

  • Completes all documentation according to ChildServe, ABC (American Board of Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics, and Pedorthics) standards and third party regulatory standards (including timeliness and accuracy)

  • Interacts in a positive and professional manner in all dealings with clients, families, and co-workers by providing reliable and consistent customer service

  • Provides appropriate referrals, recommendations, and/or follow-up with each client/family

  • Maintains knowledge of current and new products, materials, and equipment used on the job

  • Maintains a minimum productivity standard.

  • Participates in internal quality assurance and continuous quality improvement processes

  • Actively participates in and completes ChildServe mandatory and required training. Be willing to attend additional training to improve processes and procedures as they relate to providing the “best care anywhere”

  • Obtains sufficient continuing education to maintain license in good standing per regulatory agencies for the position.

  • Collaborates with other ChildServe team members and participates in task force and committee work as assigned

  • Provides leadership and direction to other care team members by developing and delivering training/educational materials related to orthotics

  • Complies with regulatory agency standards as they apply to the workshop area and production procedures, i.e. fire safety, OSHA, ABC standards, and third party payors

  • Develops key community relationships by participating in community functions, marketing, and consultative services as needed.

  • Contributes to marketing plan development and participates in marketing plan implementation in the community and with internal/external referral sources.

  • Collaborates with billing and inventory staff to provide the documentation and information they may need to successfully complete business operations

  • Interacts with third party payors as necessary to advocate and secure medically necessary orthotic services for the client

  • Collaborates with scheduling and support staff as needed to ensure customer service and billing requirements are met

  • Adheres to legal and ethical billing procedures

  • Other duties - performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited orthotic program

  • Qualifications:

  • Current ABC credentialed practitioner

  • Prefer pediatric experience

  • Cranial Orthosis/helmet experience preferred

  • Must possess valid driver’s license

  • Must have proof of automobile insurability

  • Specific Skills or Knowledge:

  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office software, Infosys software, and internet

  • Responsible for attending all mandatory and required training per ChildServe policy

  • Responsible for completing continuing education requirements to maintain credentials
