Health Information Management Team Lead
Leadership (Supervisory, Management, Executive)
Under the direction of the Health Information Management Director, the Health Information Management Team Lead will oversee the HIM team, ensure effective and compliant organizational HIM processes, HIPAA compliance, and electronic health record systems.What You'll Do
HIM Supervision- Supervise inpatient and outpatient HIM Coordinators and Specialists in collaboration with the HIM Director. Complete effective hiring, training, coaching, and performance management of team members. Ensure development of staff to achieve high results. Promote engagement and satisfaction to drive retention.
HIM Systems- Oversee all HIM functions in inpatient and outpatient services. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accrediting guidelines in collaboration with HIM Director. Ensure team cross-training for effective back-up.
Process Improvement- Identify process improvement opportunities in the HIM system. Collaborate with other departments and services to ensure processes are effective and efficient. Lead department specific process improvement projects.
HIPAA Privacy- Collaborate with HIPAA Privacy Officer to ensure organizational HIPAA compliance through training, auditing, and reporting.
Electronic Health Records- Collaborate with services to implement and refine electronic health record systems. Serve as lead for EHR projects as requested.
What You'll Need
Minimum of Associates degree in Health Information Management or related field required, bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 2 years experience in Health Information Management or related field.
Supervisory experience strongly preferred.
Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician preferred.
Ability to communicate in English effectively for understanding, in writing and verbally.
