A position for a postdoctoral research schoalr with a molecular biology background is available in a lab focused on vascular and mitochondrial biology and integrative physiology.The successful candidate will be involved in studying the effects of mitochondrial Ca2+ uptake in endothelium and smooth muscle in novel genetic models. Current disease models include restenosis after balloon angioplasty and vascular injury by cancer therapy. He/she will have access to in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo research models, as well as various research techniques and advanced equipment. The successful candidate is expected to qualify for training grants and fellowships.Education Requirement:Candidates must have an MD or PhD degreeRequired Qualifications:The ideal candidate will be a recent graduate and should have a strong background in either vascular pharmacology/physiology and Ca2+ imaging or mitochondrial biology and will be expected to acquire new complementary skills during the position.Experience with genetic mouse models is required.
