The individual selected for this NIH-funded postdoctoral fellowship would primarily work on a multi-site observational cohort study examining associations of sedentary behavior, physical activity, and sleep patterns across pregnancy trimesters with adverse pregnancy outcomes. The fellow will also contribute to the laboratory through writing manuscripts and grants, conducting data analyses, actively participating in collaborative research meetings and journal club sessions, and attending departmental seminars. The fellow will also be expected to develop and test novel research ideas using data from an ongoing cohort study. The primary mentor for this position is Dr. Kara Whitaker (, but the fellow will also collaborate with a larger team of epidemiologists, biostatisticians, and obstetricians and gynecologists at the University of Iowa and University of Pittsburgh.
