Process drug orders written by physicians on inpatients and outpatients and patient care floorstock orders: read and interpret the order, calculate the dose and/or quantity to dispense, prepare and/or package the correct medication, prepare the label, document activities (dispensing, inventory, inventory reduction, etc.) on appropriate forms. Deliver medications to patient care areas. Generate and/or maintain (includes filing) appropriate records related to medication distribution and dispensing. Utilize various equipment including electronic tablet counters, computerized label printers, high technology liquid filling devices, typewriter, pharmaceutical packaging and compounding equipment, and pneumatic tube system. Compound sterile products including anti-neoplastic drugs in bulk supplies and single doses. Utilize aseptic technique in horizontal and vertical laminar flow hoods. Package and compound non-sterile products in bulk supplies and single doses. Communicate with the general public, patients and other health care personnel in accordance with established departmental guidelines. Perform tasks as assigned by the pharmacist or technician supervisor. Maintain area orderliness and cleanliness.MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:1. High school graduation including a general mathematics course, or the equivalent.2.a. Two years experience in a position directly related to the natural sciences, orb.
