Enrichment Coordinator

We have a rewarding opening for an Enrichment Coordinator to provide our valued assisted living residents with help with their daily activities. You will provide life-enriching activities for residents that will benefit them in every aspect of living — physically, intellectually, socially, emotionally, creatively, spiritually and vocationally — while continually looking for opportunities to promote your Community and the Holiday lifestyle.

We’re looking for a patient and compassionate individual with a unique gift for recognizing the physical, mental and emotional needs of our residents. You will work with and through others, building and maintaining relationships while working closely and accurately within established guidelines. It is important to be an effective communicator, stimulating and motivating residents, volunteers and staff, while being aware of and responsive to their needs and concerns. Always be genuinely interested in the business, agenda and needs of others, including the company, its management, the team, and the company’s customers, our residents. Having a faster-than-average pace will be the norm for this position, including daily, monthly, and quarterly planning and executing.As an Enrichment Coordinator, you will also:

  • Demonstrate compassion, patience, enthusiasm and a positive attitude at all times, otherwise known as upholding and demonstrating the Holiday Touch.

  • Develop a relationship with all residents, capturing past and present interests, accomplishments and goals. Continually look for opportunities to enrich their daily lives.

  • Encourage resident friendships, working diligently to connect residents that share the same hobbies and interests.

  • Gain and track resident participation in the Enrichment Program by offering activities and events that are of interest to them.

  • Strategically plan activities and events that will generate new leads and assist the Management Team in their Grass Roots Marketing efforts.

  • Regularly meet with Management Team to discuss event planning, budgets and tracking of resident participation and new leads generated.

  • Uphold the Holiday Standards located in the Resident Enrichment Guidelines Book and the Layers of the Holiday Lifestyle.

  • Implement innovative ideas derived from your Community, other Holiday Communities and Home Office.

  • Develop and maintain a resource file of instructors, entertainers, community liaisons, cultural events, sporting events, etc.

  • Plan and implement special seasonal events to celebrate resident birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays.

  • Coordinate medical clinics (blood pressure tests, flu shot vaccines, etc.) for senior services on a regular basis using local community professionals.

  • Regularly attend Regional conference calls with any or all of the following: Enrichment Coach, Regional Sales Leader, Regional Director, or Home Offices’ Resident Enrichment Department.

  • Coordinate a successful resident volunteer program (Seniors Serving Seniors/Seniors Serving Society) focusing on residents’ interests and passions. Celebrate and recognize resident volunteers by implementing the Seniors Serving Seniors/Society Family Wall.

  • Actively develop a successful volunteer program comprised of residents’ family members, Community staff and local community contacts. Celebrate and recognize volunteers by implementing a celebratory volunteer wall, highlighting their accomplishments.

  • Coordinate all Resident Enrichment Programs and requirements necessary to make the Community profitable and successful.

  • Keep Activity Room and own work area organized.

  • Create and maintain a visually appealing and senior-friendly bulletin board within the Community that highlights daily, weekly, and monthly activities, holidays, birthdays, special events, etc.

  • Responsible for timely submission of paperwork related to the performance of job duties.

  • Promote and support the Holiday Retirement Rewards and Recognition program.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • Perform all work assigned for the agreed upon monthly wage accepting no additional payment or non-perishable gifts from residents, vendors, Community Management or others.

  • Meet the assigned work-hour requirements of the job. Regular attendance is required.

  • Ability to keep all business and operations information confidential.

  • Adhere to company and job dress code standards.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Ability to direct, organize, coordinate, provide, facilitate, present, and otherwise implement a successful Enrichment Program for a senior population.

  • Demonstrate strong personable and public relations skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing, with residents, staff, volunteers, and vendors.

  • Ability to produce a quality and celebratory Newsletter/Calendar online through the Holiday print vendor, including writing stories, uploading photos, and adhering to deadlines.

  • Competent in general computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite) and Internet usage.

  • Ability to operate and manage a monthly/quarterly/yearly budget under the direct supervision of Executive Director.

  • Ability to lead exercise classes or coordinate certified professionals within local community to lead specific exercise classes — based on Community budget and/or individuals willing to volunteer their time. (Example: Tai Chi or Yoga).

  • Demonstrate and promote a teamwork approach at all times.

  • Must have a current Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or be able to obtain a CDL within 60 days of employment to safely operate the Community bus for activity and program-related outings. In order to obtain your CDL, you will take a medical examination after hire, at the expense of the company.   • Ability to drive a bus or other vehicles, meeting all federal and state driving regulations and requirements.

  • Ability to operate a bus or other vehicles in a safe manner at all times.
