Persons appointed to this position will receive the privileges and benefits associated with regular employment status.Duties:Provide genetic counseling services to patients and families at University of Iowa Health Care within one of the following departments;All of Us Research Program University & Coordinating CenterHolden Comprehensive Cancer CenterDepartment of Otolaryngology Molecular Otolaryngology and Renal Research LaboratoriesObstetrics & Gynecologyto assure the effective and efficient delivery of health care. Genetic counselors will also provide education to health professionals.This is a multiple listing. Between this requisition and requisition 72039 we intend to hire a minimum of 3 genetic counselors. Applicants should review the years of experience requirements to determine which requisition to apply.Education Required:A Master's Degree in Human Genetics, or Genetic Counseling is required.Experience Required:Genetics Counseling clinical rotations or internship experience, or 6 months to 1 year experience in the field of genetic counseling is required.Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills are required.Valid Driver's License, plus the ability to meet and maintain The University of Iowa Fleet Safety Program driving standard.Certifications:Board certification or eligibility in genetic counseling from the American Board of Genetic Counseling is required.Desirable Qualifications:Demonstrated time management and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously is desirable.Experience in the field of genetic counseling is desirable.Experience in genetics research and/or recruitment of human subjects for research projects is desirable.Online Application OptionsApplication Type:This job requires basic applicant information, plus a resume.
