ASSISTANT PROFESSOR,ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR, PROFESSORRequisition # 73845Position BasicsType of PositionTENURE-TRACKAdvertising Ends on:Extended Until Position is FilledAdvertising Started on:Thursday, November 21st, 2019College:Carver College of MedicineDepartment:Neuroscience and PharmacologySalarySalary:$100,000.00 to CommensuratePosition DetailsFull/Part Time Status:Full TimePosition Description:The Department of Neuroscience and Pharmacology seeks highly qualified applicants for several tenure track faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate, or full Professor level in the broad areas of Neuroscience and Pharmacology. Preferred areas of research complement existing strengths in the department, including molecular systems neuroscience, disorders of the nervous system, central control of energy homeostasis and cardiovascular function, cell signaling, aging, and cancer biology. The department has new leadership and is undergoing expansion of its faculty ( Neuroscience and Pharmacology faculty members direct an NIH funded training program for predoctoral students in Pharmacological Sciences and have strong collaborative interactions with colleagues throughout the Carver College of Medicine, Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center, Cardiovascular Center, Iowa Neuroscience Institute, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Diabetes Research Center. The faculty members also participate in interdisciplinary training programs including Neuroscience, Molecular Medicine, Pain Research, Genetics, and the Medical Scientist Training Program. Outstanding research space with state-of-the art shared instrumentation is available. These tenure-track positions include a 12-month salary, benefits and a competitive start-up package.Education Requirement:Candidates must have a PhD and/or MD degreeRequired Qualifications:Applicants should have demonstrated ability in research and teaching and/or mentoring, including high-profile publications, and documented potential to direct an innovative and productive research program. For the Assistant Professor rank, this includes a minimum of 2 years of postdoctoral training and an outstanding record of research accomplishments.
