The faculty member appointed as a Distinguished Scholar in Advancing Science in Health Systems will provide leadership in advancing scholarship that emphasizes improvements in systems of care, with emphasis on quality, safety, and outcomes, which may include implementation science expertise. This exciting opportunity is for a senior faculty member who has a distinguished career in health systems research. The selected candidate will have a demonstrable teaching and scholarship record commensurate with the rank of a tenured Full Professor or Associate Professor at The University of Iowa College of Nursing. Resources to support development work and advance scholarship are provided.The faculty named as Distinguished Scholar in Advancing Science in Health Systems will:Maintain continued funding that supports advancements in health systems research.Mentor faculty and students in health systems research to advance developing and collaborative programs of research.Facilitate interdisciplinary and interprofessional collaborations to advance team science scholarship in health systems improvements, including partnering with University of Iowa (UI) programs and initiatives relevant for health systems research and clinical advances.Demonstrate and advance national engagement and leadership in professional associations and federal bodies of importance for health systems scholarship (e.g. Academy Health).Increase reputation of health systems research excellence at Iowa through national recognition of scholarship on improving health systems and dissemination of outcomes in high impact venues.Contribute to advancing the excellence of the College of Nursing's teaching mission.Demonstrate leadership in Collegiate, University and Professional initiatives.The ideal candidate will have earned a doctorate in nursing or a doctorate in a related field as well as have a focused program of research related to health systems, including emphasis on quality, safety and outcomes; a commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration; and a demonstrated excellence in health systems research through funding and publication record.A complete application will include a letter describing relevant experiences and interest in the position; current curriculum vitae; and the names of five references with titles, mailing addresses, business/home telephone numbers and email addresses.
