Job Information

UnityPoint Health Surgical Technician-Certified-Surgery in Dubuque, Iowa

Work hours will be primarily, 8:30 am – 7:00 pm, (10 hour shifts) for 80 hours per pay period, and as needed. There is a weekday, weekend, and holiday call rotation.

Assist in the care of the patient undergoing surgical intervention by performing those duties of a Certified Surgical Technologist in Surgery.

Prepare patients, operating rooms and equipment for pending surgical procedures and assist during such procedures. Function as a member of the surgical team when adequately prepared so that optimum quality of patient care is maintained according to the philosophy and objectives of UnityPoint Health - Finley Hospital responsibilities.

Minimum Requirements

Not required to perform the essential functions of the position.

Education:

Successful completion of a surgical tech program from an accredited college.

Experience:

Previous surgical technician experience

License(s)/Certification(s):

Surgical tech certification

Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.

Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within three (3) months from date of hire.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English.

Multicultural sensitivity.

Microsoft Office – basic computer skills.

Customer/patient focused.

Other:

Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
