We are seeking to hire one, possibly two, highly motivated, positive-minded, collaborative faculty member to teach in the Athletic Training Program/Health, Wellness and Behavioral Sciences Department of Clarke University. This position is tenure track with open faculty rank, dependent upon degree held and rank potentially held at another accredited institution of higher education. This position will participate in all aspects of the CAATE accredited Athletic Training Program, which is currently phasing out the BS and phasing in the MAT. This position includes primarily courses in the content areas of therapeutic interventions, nutrition, research, psychology, and general health/wellness; however, this position may be called upon to teach other content areas including psychology, health/wellness and supervise clinical experiences in the department as well. In some courses, this position collaborates with other disciplines such as physical therapy, which is at the doctoral level at Clarke University. The successful candidate(s) will function as a teaching and clinical faculty member(s) as well as collaborate with other college and local health care professionals.
A Doctoral Degree (PhD or EdD) or ABD in a related field and BOC Certification in good standing are required. Iowa licensure eligibility is essential in addition to a solid understanding of CAATE's guidelines and workings and adherence to the NATA Code of Ethics and other Standards of Professional Practices. Teaching experience in a CAATE accredited program is preferred, as is a background in psychology/behavioral sciences, health and wellness. The successful candidate(s) must be able to work collaboratively in a university firmly grounded in the liberal arts tradition with a strong sense of community and Catholic identity committed to the values of education, justice, charity, and freedom.
