UnityPoint Health Supervisor Nursing Services-P4 Stroke/Neuro/Medical-IMMC in Des Moines, Iowa
Assists in managing the day to day operations of the unit utilizing quality, cost effective patient care principles. Supervises supports and develops unit staff. Consistently utilizes a holistic approach (considering physical, psych/social, spiritual, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients served in the assigned service area). Acts in accordance with DNV Primary Stroke Center guidelines and educational requirements therein.
Integrates the UnityPoint Health Des Moines Nursing Expectations of Performance in all aspects of care delivery and professional practice.
Manages daily operations of patient care. Contributes to the maintenance of high quality, cost effective services consistent with the needs of the users and the hospital’s budgetary guidelines.
Provides clinical leadership by directing, coordinating and delegating patient care in an organized manner, allowing for flexibility.
Acts as an interdepartmental liaison promoting effective multidisciplinary team work.
Collaborates with physicians and other health care team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Remains competent and available to participate in patient care pertinent to clinical specialty.
Demonstrates personal and professional growth and promotes the same among team members.
Exhibits discretion and sound judgment in all aspects of the job.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Requirements

Education:
Graduate of accredited nursing program. BSN.
Experience:
One year experience as a registered nurse.
Experience in specialty area.
License(s)/Certification(s):
Current Iowa license as a registered nurse.
Current BCLS (CPR)
Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Must be able to communicate effectively with people of diverse professional educational and lifestyle backgrounds.
Knowledge of basic computer skills.
Other:
Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
