Prelude Behavioral Services Residential Supervisor in Des Moines, Iowa

DescriptionPrelude Behavioral Services is committed to providing comprehensive substance abuse and behavioral health services to Iowans. We are seeking a full-time Residential Supervisor in the Des Moines area who is compassionate, collaborative and who believes in the possibility of change.The Residential Supervisor will direct all aspects of our 24/7 residential treatment services program, including patient care, clinical services, and residential staff supervision. The residential programs at Prelude are gender specific in order to provide patients with specialized treatment approaches, therefore the supervisor will be assigned to oversee either the menis or women's unit. Within their unit, the supervisor will have the opportunity lead an integrated treatment team comprised of counselors, recovery assistants and other residential team members.The Residential Supervisor will:Be responsible for the clinical operation and functioning of the residential treatment program in accordance with relevant licensure and regulations and maintain contract compliance for all programs.Responsible for crisis calls, evaluations, treatment planning, case management, and referrals on all patients engaging the residential services and ensure the delivery of treatment activities to patients in accordance with treatment plans through the supervision of other residential staff.Manage all scheduling of staff to ensure patient care needs are met, provide functional and clinical supervision, and provide staff with opportunities for development.Be responsible for planning, assigning, and directing work of staff; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Ensures that appropriate records, including medical and others, are kept in accordance with outlined procedures; this includes all records and reports as may be required by IDPH for licensing, certification, and quality operation of residential programmingAssist the program in developing policies and procedures relating to the assessment, treatment, levels of care determination for patients, and assist and advise clinical staff in total patient care management.Lead and participate in staff meetings.Assist with budget development, monitoring and performance.RequirementsQualified candidates for this role will satisfy all of the following conditions:Completion of a Bacheloris or Masteris degree from an accredited educational institution, in the social or behavioral sciences field;iANDHolder of a substance abuse counseling certification, i.e., Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor or International Alcohol and Drug Counselor from the Iowa Board of Substance Abuse Certification or a state that has reciprocity;iANDAt least three years as a full-time substance abuse counselor in a program similar to Prelude;iANDAt least two yearsi experience as a supervisor in a similar program/agencySalary and BenefitsCandidateis pay will be commensurate with experience, certification and education.
