LSI announces an exciting opportunity for a full time Manager to lead the development and ongoing operation of a Center for Refugee and Immigrant Services in Des Moines.
The Manager will lead and coordinate the planning and implementation, and the operations of a Center. The Center is intended to provide a centralized entry point, as well as a hub of information, resources and services for refugees and immigrants in Central Iowa. Additionally, it will serve as a physical space for LSI and other community providers to provide access to human services and resources, such as language, transportation, childcare, job training, and other resources that support navigation and integration into the community and promote sustainable opportunities to thrive. The Manager serves as a member of the local leadership team to provide a variety of administrative and operational supports for staff, volunteers and community partners at the Center.
Required: Bachelor's degree, 3-5 years of experience with refugees or immigrants in human service setting and three years of supervisory experience and/or project management experience.
Preferred: Master's degree in public administration, social work, or related field; and five or more years of experience with refugees or immigrants in human service setting; and five or more years of supervisory experience, project management and/or non-profit leadership experience. Preferred applicants will have language skills to meet client needs or have experience providing services in a multilingual setting.
This position will be required to possess a valid driver's license, auto insurance, a good driving record and the ability to pass an extensive background check including checks of the Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, Sex Offender registry and a criminal history check.
