Patient Account Rep III - Physician Billing Office
GENERAL SUMMARY :
Maintains expert working
knowledge of rules and regulations for assigned work. Adheres to corporate
policies and procedures. Serves as a front-line resource for staff questions. Trains
staff and assists with managing team workflow.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Ability to utilize high level thinking andproblem solving to bring complex accounts to resolution.
Maintain an expert working knowledge of rules and regulations for teamworkflow.
Provide new and recurring training to Billing staff.
Assist staff with questions.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED :
High school diploma or GED required.
Two years experience in a physician billing office or centralbilling office is required
Working knowledge of CPT, ICD.9, HCFA 1500, and explanation of benefitsrequired.
Successful completion of a medical terminology class preferred.
Demonstrates written, verbal, and nonverbal communication that isconsistent with the Mercy Mission, Values and I Will Statements to allpatients, families, visitors, medical staff, colleagues, vendors and otherinternal and external customers.
Must be a self- started and demonstrate the ability to workindependently by making appropriate decisions according to the organizationaland departmental guidelines that fall within the scope of the position.
Demonstrates the ability to understand and effectively utilize a highlycomplex billing system(s).
Maintains current knowledge of all Federal, State and complianceregulations related to billing and insurance as required based on the scope ofthe position.
Demonstrates an understanding of HCFA 1500 claim forms, CPT, ICD.9 andHCPCS codes specific to insurance carrier requirements as required based onscope of the position.
