Des Moines Public Schools is seeking a School Nurse. Location to be determined.Job Summary:The school nurse works with district staff and community health providers to maintain optimal health and safety practices in school communities, support classroom teachers in providing health related curriculum, coordinate special care accommodations to allow students to fully participate in school activities, and ensure compliance with health related laws and standards.Successful candidates for this position will possess:Registered nurse in IowaDriver’s licenseHighly Qualified Candidates for the position will possess:Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related fieldStatement of Professional Recognition through the Board of Educational ExaminersExperience in pediatric nursing or public health nursingPlease see attached job descripton for further information on functions of the position along with educational and experience requirements.Position Details:Contract days vary by assignment7.75 hoursSalary schedule is attached. Single and Family Health Insurance at no cost to the employee during the first plan year of employment (July 1 - June 30). Premium cost is $600/year after that.
