UnityPoint Health Hospital Liaison-Rural Affiliates Management in Des Moines, Iowa
The Hospital Liaison will facilitate and develop close relationships through regular communication with rural hospital clinical leadership to assist in assessment and improvement of clinical operations in UnityPoint Health’s rural hospitals. In addition, the Hospital Liaison will identify opportunities for clinical integration between CIHC and rural facilities and implement initiatives leading to fulfillment of the UnityPoint Health brand promise.
Develop and maintain strong service relationships with rural hospital clinical leadership, including rural hospital chief nurse executives, through scheduled site visits and regular communication.
Build positive relationships with rural hospital clinical leadership to facilitate open communication and enhance coordination and quality of patient care.
Act as a liaison between clinical leadership of rural hospitals and staff at UnityPoint Health-Des Moines.
Serve as the primary coordinator for the rural hospital mock survey process and provide expertise in clinical regulatory areas.
Oversee administration of the rural hospital physician peer review process.
Serve as the back-up to the Director of Rural Health Resources in matters relating to rural operations.
Participate in Board of Trustee and other rural hospital meetings in support of rural health resources and business development initiatives.
Participates in UnityPoint Health-Des Moines committees and meetings in order to connect services and initiatives offered at UnityPoint Health-Des Moines with the critical access hospitals as appropriate.
Demonstrate initiative to improve quality and customer service by striving to exceed customer expectations.
Integrate and demonstrate FOCUS values to guide professional behaviors, while adhering to the policies and procedures of UnityPoint Health-Des Moines.
Practice reflects knowledge of HIPAA, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulations guiding healthcare.
Preferred or Specialized
Bachelor’s degree required – healthcare, business or related field
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum 5 years work experience with physicians and physician office staff, hospital clinical staff, or healthcare administration.
Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
Current Iowa RN License
Microsoft Office- basic computer skills
Must be able to communicate effectively with people of diverse professional, educational, and diverse lifestyle backgrounds
Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
