CommonSpirit Health ESL Specialist for Healthcare Students in DES MOINES, Iowa

  • Provides tutoring and some instructional assistance to students enrolled in healthcare programs, focusing on high stake courses.

  • Collaborates with Student Success, faculty and academic advisors to enhance student outcomes in the classroom, laboratory and clinical settings.

  • Explores and implements learning strategies to help students succeed.


  • Bachelor's degree in health science, nursing, or related field.

  • Minimum 1 year experience working in a healthcare environment.

  • Demonstrated experience assisting individuals with English as a second language.

  • Proficient knowledge of Medical Terminology.

  • Ability to work with diverse individuals.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience in nursing preferred.
