Job Description

The Board-Certified Oncology Pharmacist position is responsible for the overall direction and management of Prime’s Oncology Medical Specialty programs. This position has primary leadership responsibility for the design, development, implementation and execution of systems, programs and processes driving and supporting Prime’s overall oncology business objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports overall Medical Specialty line for health plans through validated program enhancements, creation of usable, client collateral materials with marketing, and supporting client discussions.

  • Develops new opportunities and supports expansion of programs for existing clients.

  • Works with analytics team to provide program outcomes to measure for cost impact analyses for health plan clients.

  • Manage and support the oncology Medical Pharmacy development needs for current and potential new clients.

  • Research, obtain, coordinate, and integrate feedback from diverse operational groups and organizations into a written product to educate internal partners and clients.

  • Identify and develop opportunities for improved process efficiencies for Oncology Medical Pharmacy programs.

  • Support the preparation and delivery of program reporting.

  • Develop appropriate submissions for program presentations at National meetings and for publication acceptance.

  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to support client requests and issue resolution as part of the innovation and strategy team.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science Pharmacy degree

  • Current pharmacist license in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy in the State where the position is located

  • 7 years of work experience as Pharmacist in clinical oncology with experience at oncology institution, practice or hospice

  • Experience working in managed care, health plans or PBM

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship

  • BCOP – Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist

Additional Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, including team leadership, conflict resolution and listening

  • Action oriented ability to identify and implement opportunities.

  • Ability to precept pharmacy students

  • Strong presentation skills, written and verbal communication

  • Outstanding interpersonal, consultation, organizational, tracking and follow-up skills.

  • Strong data review and interpretation skills

  • Must have significant clinical knowledge, business acumen, and industry insight. In depth understanding and experience of the current Oncology therapeutic market and dynamic, and any relevant current or upcoming regulatory or legislative changes effecting the treatment of cancer.

  • Process and detail oriented with disciplined implementation methodologies and a keen ability to execute

  • Ability to manage multiple, complex project simultaneously without compromising quality

  • Ability to work under pressure and strict timeframes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PGY1 pharmacy residency experience preferred

Minimum Physical Job Requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time

  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms

  • Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, and crouch

  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Reporting Structure:

  • Reports to Senior Director or Director in the Medical Specialty department

Potential pay for this position ranges from $144,000.00 - $230,200.00 based on experience and skills. Pay range may vary by 8% depending on applicant location.
