QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalencyEXPERIENCE: On the job training; classroom training- EEO/AA M/F/V/D- NCRC preferredGENERAL DESCRIPTION: Vision (must meet industry requirements), depth perception, hearing, hand-eye coordination, dexterity, reading, writing and above average math aptitude. Anyone applying to a Level 1 position must pass (70% or above) a preliminary aptitude exam approved by the departmental manager/supervisor.SPECIFIC DUTIES:Has the knowledge and skills to perform radiography of castings using established techniquesDevelop film using exposure charts of a radiographic technique for a particular exposure or exposures when no technique is availableFamiliar with dark room procedures and film processingCannot accept/reject castingsMust be able to provide training and guidance to Level I traineesTRAINING:Must have a minimum of 400 hours of on the job trainingComplete 40 hours of formal classroom trainingMust complete 40 hours of RT safety trainingCERTIFICATION:Must pass general, specific and practical examinations (Initially and every 3 years for re-certification)Must pass a yearly eye exam demonstrating no color discrimination and acceptable visual acuityMust obtain and maintain State Radiographer card or equivalentPHYSICAL DEMANDS:Lift up to 50 lbs. at waist level and up to 50 lbs. at shoulder level on a frequent basis when moving productsPush or pull with up to 80 lbs. of force on an occasional basis when moving productsGenerate up to 80 lbs. of grip strength on an occasional basis with each hand while handling productsGenerate up to 15 lbs. of pinch strength on an occasional basis with each hand while handling productsDisplay average coordination with both hands on a continuous basis while performing job tasksPerform elevated work on an occasional basis when handling productsStoop, kneel or squat on an occasional basis when handling productsReach forward and to the side on a frequent basis when handling productsStand on a continuous basis and walk on a frequent basis during the course of each shiftAble to perform repetitive tasks up to 12 hours per dayThese job duties are not all inclusive.
