REGIONAL HEALTH SERVICES OF HOWARD COUNTY Pharmacist - Part-Time 30 hours in two in CRESCO, Iowa

POSITION SUMMARY: The Pharmacist in Charge will perform daily functions of the retail pharmacy department in dispensing pharmaceutical needs to our customers. This position will lead personnel in standards and quality of care, inventory control and intra- and interdepartmental communication. Position will direct the day-to-day and business operations of retail Pharmacy, including but not limited to developing, directing, implementing, and coordinating services.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DETAILED DUTIES: Coordinates staff development and education in area of responsibility. Maintains adequate staffing through scheduling, to meet the needs of the work area. Recruits, screens and participates in the interview and selection of Pharmacy staff. Ensures adequate inventory control and contract recommendations. Responsible for inventory control. Assesses need for supplies, equipment, and services for retail pharmacy and prices products to sell with appropriate gross margins. Utilizes cost containment procedures to stay within operating budget. Ensure compliance with regulations dealing with Pharmacy. Actively works with staff to promote Pharmacy values including: teamwork, competence, honesty, respect and achievement. Counsels patients on the effects, dosage, and route of administration of their drug treatments, particularly those require complex drug therapy. Acts as a patient advocate. Understands, maintains and utilizes all computer hardware and software necessary to fulfill daily operations. Assists in the development of policies, procedures, and quality control relevant to their areas of responsibilities. Serves as a change agent during times of transition and growth. Respects patient privacy and treats all information and treatment of patient as confidential. Attends and/or teaches in-service programs as requested. Utilizes cost containment procedures to stay within operating budget. Keeps accurate and legible records and documentation forms. Functions as a leader both inter- and intra-departmentally. Maintains professional education/development and assists in the education of other team members. Develops a fiscally responsible annual budget based on the organizational strategic plan and department statistics including reimbursement analysis and a strategy to monitor financial performance. Implement necessary corrective plan as appropriate. Coordinates quality initiatives; establishes expectations, plans, prioritizes, and manages the performance improvement process ensuring implementation of processes to measure, assess and improve performance. Provides competent patient care to all ages by obtaining and appropriately interpreting data, making appropriate decisions based on demonstrated knowledge of age-specific growth and development and appropriately adapting procedures and treatments. Ensures compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards.POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of the requirements for a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharm
