GENERAL SUMMARY :
As an integral member of MercyOne PHSO (Population Health Services Organization), the Division Director of Analytics works directly with the President of the PHSO to create and implement the organization’s analytic, data and IT strategies. This role will be required to display leadership in ensuring the success of projects that lead to positive outcomes for MercyOne PHSO and MercyOne One. Including but not limited to, strategic analytics for optimization of value-based contracts, analysis of population health metrics for improvement identification and, resource use monitoring for improved financial performance of network operations. The Division Director of Analytics will need to effectively lead and develop a team of analysts and other IS professionals to help ensure success of a large portfolio of projects as well as ensuring healthy and effective talent development. The Division Director of Analytics also must effectively lead large IT projects, such as the development and maintenance of a large data lake, the design of the PHSO’s population health platform and other strategically important applications. As an expert in these fields, the Division Director of Analytics will also be required to lead and support targeted initiatives for the broader MercyOne PHSO organization, in conjunction with the needs of leaders and the markets. While strong technical skills are required, this role also requires clinical, business, and communication skills in creating and delivering results to PHSO leadership and other key stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Provides leadership to MercyOne PHSO’s analytics team, through development, coaching, project management and performance reviews.
Provides strategic direction for the data, analytic and IT vision and developments of MercyOne PHSO, delivering positive outcomes towards the Triple Aim (Quality, Cost, Experience).
Works with the President of the PHSO to set project priorities, timelines and assignments as well as communicate relevant status updates.
Provides input to the PHSO strategic plan related to analytics and data science.
Manages and directs the project queue for the PHSO analytics team, which is responsible for delivering modeling, datamining and analytic projects for MercyOne PHSO as well as other MercyOne One leaders.
Works with PHSO care management and operations leadership to identify and deliver projects that deliver positive outcomes for the organization.
Optimizes use of PHSO data systems for strategic analytics, optimization of value based contracts, analysis of population health metrics for improvement identification and, resource use monitoring for improved financial performance of network operations.
Maintains detailed knowledge and provides direct oversight for the design and development of MercyOne PHSO’s applications such as their population health platform, as well as the ‘PHSO Provider Portal,’ and its related applications.
Manages the development and maintenance of the PHSO’s data lake, and identifies opportunities for strategic application.
Ensures integrity of the PHSO datalake and other shared systems and spearheads multi-state projects and information systems initiatives.
Manages the vendor relationships with MercyOne PHSO’s key external partners.
Coordinates with PHSO markets (analysts and leaders) to support their usage of the PHSO population health platform and strategic analytics as well as ensuring the quality of data that markets maintain and send to the PHSO data lake.
Consults network-wide leaders on data uses, applications and strategies.
Identifies innovative and strategic projects that can provide value to MercyOne PHSO and MercyOne One through the application of data and analytics.
Develops and delivers presentations that effectively communicates strategic data insights and other important topics.
Leads the analytic talent acquisition strategy for the network, through direct leadership of the MercyOne PHSO efforts and expert support to network’s markets and other departments.
Identifies opportunities for data enhancements across the network, including improvement opportunities for local data systems.
Serves as a resource and liaison for MercyOne One wide data initiatives, including analytics to support strategic priorities as well as IT investments and implementations.
Coordinates and aligns initiatives with CSH National Enterprise Intelligence (EI), National Trinity Departments, and PHSO Participant Organizations.
Attends national conferences as requested by PHSO leadership.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED :
Bachelor’s degree required.
Master’s degree in Analytics, Business, Healthcare Administration, or equivalent, required
Management experience, required. Two (2) years or more, required.
Advanced courses and or demonstrated experience in statistics, data sciences and/or advanced mathematics, required.
Excellent communication skills and experience with group and meeting facilitation required.
Strong personal computer experience: word processing, spreadsheet, database and PowerPoint required.
Experience with consulting, project management and/or process improvement (PDSA, Lean, or Six Sigma) preferred.
IT project management experience (i.e. application development, architectural design, and Hadoop or other big data infrastructure) preferred.
Experience developing health care strategies and implementing projects focused on the Triple Aim (Quality, Cost, Experience) preferred.
Working knowledge of SQL, Python, R, and/or formal education, strongly preferred.
Experience in physician practice management software, preferred.
