Responsibilities

GENERAL SUMMARY :

Assists Clinic Manager in the planning, organization and directing of the daily operations of the clinic. Up to 49% of the role may be functioning in the capacity of staff. Responsible for day-to-day clinic operation in the absence of the Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  • Assists with directing, motivating, and evaluating the activities of specific clinic personnel. May also be responsible for assisting with setting staff priorities and directly evaluating and disciplining staff members.

  • Works with individual clinic management and medical staff to evaluate, monitor and enforce clinic specific protocols, procedures and objectives.

  • Ensures charging/ reimbursement changes are integrated into every level of clinic operations by coordinating with the clinic team.

  • Promotes an environment of Patient Centered Care, building a team that promotes a positive patient experience with each encounter.

  • Demonstrates functional knowledge of essential functions for the job classes that are directly supervised.

  • Assists in the development of the clinic budget. Monitors utilization of staff and supplies and makes appropriate adjustments to meet the budget.

  • Monitors clinic specific compliance with MCI Policies implementing plans as needed.

  • Promotes team concept among all staff in clinic. Utilizes effective verbal and nonverbal communication to ensure problems, possible solutions and final solutions are understood and accepted by all affected staff members and patients.

  • Trains and monitors staff to ensure that protocols in specific areas comply with federal/state regulatory agencies as applicable.

  • Participates with clinic manager in pre-employment interviews and makes recommendations regarding hiring. May also be responsible for hiring all positions in area of responsibility, which necessitates knowledge of interviewing techniques and a good working relationship with Human Resources.

  • Ensures mandatory education/licensure certification requirements for assigned staff are met, including mentoring and training of staff on changes in the health care environment.

  • Schedules and supervises specific clinical personnel.

  • Participates in Performance Improvement activities as appropriate.

Qualifications

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED :

  • Current license or certification as RN, LPN, or MA; or completion of approved training program in laboratory and registered as CLS or MLT.

  • Two years’ experience in clinic/physician office.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and American Heart Association Basic Life Support.

  • Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population serve within three (3) months of hire.
