Area Substance Abuse Council (ASAC) is seeking a dynamic, full-time substance abuse counselor to work with women in our residential treatment program in Clinton.i The Hightower Place program provides housing and treatment services to women in recovery and the Residential Counselor serves as a key member of the treatment team by providing services that help them learn to live a safe, healthy, and productive life free from substance use.iThe Counselor:Provides individual counseling to patients and facilitates group sessionsInitiates family sessions and provides education for to patientis familiesManages and maintains a patient caseload of residential patients; initiates, implements, and reviews treatment plans for all assigned patientsCoordinates patient involvement with other community agenciesAttends training to further develop their skillsHelps to plan and implement recreational activities for residential patientsProvides urinalysis monitoring on an as needed basisMaintain strict confidentiality, in accordance with HIPAA and 42CFRRequirementsQualified candidates will have a Bacheloris degree in Substance Abuse Counseling, Social Work, Human Services, Counseling, Psychology or related field.i Candidates with a Masteris degree and/or current t-CADC, CADC or licensure are also strongly encouraged to apply.
