RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGIST PRN
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Performs general diagnostic, fluoroscopic, mammography, ultrasound, echo-vascular, MRI, and computed tomography procedures as qualified. This includes working with neonates, pediatric, adolescent , adult, and geriatric patients and adapting procedures appropriately for each age group.
Works rotational shifts with other technologists and provides general diagnostic and computed tomography procedures on call. This includes arriving at the hospital within 20 minutes of being called.
Maintains current knowledge of equipment used in the radiology department. Works within accepted practice standards for the institution and maintains confidential information.
Uses office/clerical equipment, maintains accurate clinical records, and has a working knowledge of all computer systems.
Performs a wide variety of assignments including maintaining equipment and troubleshooting as needed.
Greets patients and families in a professional and caring manner.
Schedules procedures and exams, keeping current on insurance and billing requirements.
Ability to operate all computer systems.
Maintain record keeping and filing system of reports, films and requisitions according to departmental policies. Classifies, sorts and files correspondence, records and other documents accordingly. Purges files in accordance with policy.
Educational/Experience requirements: Successful completion of a two year Radiology Technology program and active registration with the ARRT. Current Iowa license to practice general radiography. Minimum of at least one advanced certification with the ARRT proof of required continuing educational credits.
