Summary:

Assist in overseeing all aspects of high school extracurricular activities and athletics. Responsible for developing programs, systems, and tools that will engage more students and keep students involved in athletic and fine arts activities.

Endorsements/Qualifications:

Masters Degree in an administration field preferred. Experience in a Master’s Degree administration program is preferred.

Must hold an active Teaching License.

Essential Duties:

  • Develop new reporting and intervention systems for student athletes to ensure they are on track to remain eligible.

  • Assist in monitoring student performance indicators as it relates to activities and academic achievement (attendance, grades, credits).

  • Assist in developing new programming that supports student leadership and character development.

  • Increase lower level (9th/10th grade) athletic opportunities and event management which would be outside the normal games and competitions

  • Assist in the administration of eligibility requirements for activities by ensuring proper registration, paperwork, and documentation necessary for participation.

  • Assist in developing and providing professional development for activities and athletics team members

  • Provide support for day to day activities programming and operations by engaging in and supervising student activities and events.

  • Assist in keeping updated inventory of all equipment and supplies as it relates to to activities and athletics

  • Promote and model good sportsmanship and maintain and assist in maintaining an activity program that welcomes competing teams, guests, and game officials.

  • Provide active communication and positive relationships switch all stakeholder including students, partenst, staff, administration, and community members

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proficiency in grammar, spelling, punctuation, and related communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently without supervision and as a team member

  • Report to work as scheduled on a regular and reliable basis. Including events beyond the normal working hours

  • Ability to organize, prioritize and assume responsibility.

  • Capable of representing the distdit in a professional manner, which includes but is not limited to confidentiality, collegiality, and the ability to obtain and utilize additional training if necessary.

  • Aptitude for detail

  • Must be able to successfully use, maintain, and manipulate google suite and internet technology

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve problems effectively. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Ability to apply knowledge of current research as it relates to the support of the educational goals of the district. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community. Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and board of education policies. Ability to comply with state and local guidelines.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds 0-12 feet and occasionally up to 20 feet, such as curriculum materials, desks, chairs, and boxes. The employee will sometimes push/pull items such as tables and carts. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and teh ability to adjust focus while supervising students and working with computers, written materials, reports, assessment data, etc.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The position requires the commitment of a professional working horse that may require the employee to extend beyond a typical 7:30am to 3:30pm workday. The employee will frequently work in different areas including in/at desks, outside, in a gym, standing, in movement while supervising indoor and outdoor activities, etc. The employee will work in various weather conditions.
