Presbyterian Homes and Services Nursing Assistant / HHA / CNA / NAR - Assisted Living (AL) - Full Time in Ankeny, Iowa

Presbyterian Homes & Services is seeking Nursing Assistants to join our Assisted Living team at Mill Pond in Ankeny, Iowa, in our Assisted Living and Memory Care. This opportunity is available for a non-certified applicant as well as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).

The following full-time position is available:

  • Overnight Shift (10:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m.)

This position includes working every other weekend and scheduled holidays.

Non-certified applicants interested in obtaining their CNA are eligible to apply for a scholarship to complete their certification.

We offer competitive wages and benefits, with full time status defined as working a minimum of 60 hours during the two week pay period. We take your past experience into consideration for your starting wage and we offer regular wage increases based on hours worked.

As a Nursing Assistant, you will play a critical role in caring for older adults - not only physically, but emotionally, socially, mentally, and spiritually. The Nursing Assistant is responsible for the provision of high quality personal care and services to residents to support their Personally Designed Living choices while maintaining consistency with regulations and established best practices.

The Certified Nursing Assistant, CNA (Resident Assistant) is responsible for the provision of high quality personal care and services to residents to support the Personally Designed Living choices of residents, while maintaining consistency with regulations and established best practices.

  • Successful completion of a state approved nursing assistant training program and current certification in state(s) in which he/she practices OR successful completion of a home health aide instruction course and successful completion of home health aide competency testing to work in Home Care.

  • Demonstrated competencies in person-directed, elder/resident-directed practice, home building, critical thinking, teamwork, self leadership, and interpersonal effectiveness.

  • Demonstrated compatibility with the PHS mission and operating philosophies.

  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to communicate with all customers.
