Manufacturing Weld Engineer - Des Moines, IA (50023) - Contract

As a Manufacturing Weld Engineer for John Deere you will work closely with Operations, Industrial Engineering, Assembly Engineering, Paint Engineering, Quality Engineering and Product Designs teams in the development and maintenance of manual and automated weld manufacturing processes.

You will need to be an excellent communicator, who thrives on solving problems and working in a team environment.

Bachelor of Science degree in Weld Engineering / Technical Engineering degree or commensurate experience in a weld manufacturing shop floor environment is a plus for this role. In addition, experience in one or more related engineering areas: industrial, production, methods, reliability, design or manufacturing is desired.

Required:

  • Background in Mechanical and Weld Engineering or a minimum 3 years experience in weld manufacturing.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality, tooling, tool design, total preventative maintenance and facilities.

  • Working knowledge of database management tools, PRO-E cad system, excellent overall computer skills.

  • Ability to effectively communicate and work with all levels of wage, salaried and management personnel in a team environment.

  • Safety shoes with internal metatarsal protection.
