As the first point of contact to the clinic, employ customer service skills to build a positive relationship with patients and clients served. Demonstrate ability to effectively manage multi-tasked details by registering and discharging patients from clinic visits, scheduling all appointments, answering multi-line phones, scanning chart information into EMR, selecting patient orders and associated charges per client/insurance protocol, processing paperwork for orders/referrals, maintaining medical records, providing insurance claim verification information and initiating billing procedures for all patient visits.

Uses resources to improve productivity or delegate appropriately.
Works with other clerical staff and volunteers to enhance services, use time wisely and improve teamwork.
Uses technology to complete processes in an accurate and timely manner as assigned.
Manages resources effectively to meet the needs of patients/clients served while eliminating waste.
Evaluates and adjusts par levels to decrease over stock.
Practice reflects knowledge of HIPAA, DOT, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.
This position may be assigned a specific mission to address in an emergency situation to assist in disaster response and recovery as part of the UPH-DM Hospital Emergency Incident Command System. Situations of a critical nature may require an individual to perform multiple tasks until additional support can be obtained.

Preferred or Specialized
· Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English, and be easily comprehended by others.
· High School graduate or GED equivalent.
· Completion of medical terminology course preferred. Other related education a plus.
· Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Outlook. Must be flexible to learn additional IT applications as assigned.
· Two years registration, billing, financial counselor, or other health care related experience preferred.
Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
· Able to type accurately and perform low level mathematical computations.
· Outgoing, friendly personality.
Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
