Description

McFarland Clinic is currently accepting applications for a CT Supervisor for its Ames Radiology Department. Candidates should be service-oriented, a team player, and be able to provide extraordinary care, every day to our patients.

Health Care Delivery:

  • Positions patients and adjusts equipment for examinations.

  • Instructs patients regarding procedures.

  • Follows prescribed safety procedures.

  • Selects appropriate technical factors by adjusting equipment on an individual basis.

  • Examines imaging studies for technical quality and diagnostic usefulness.

  • Authorizes release of patients upon completion of imaging study.

  • Delivers diagnostic exam to radiologists for reading/interpretation.

  • Administers contrast media per department policies and provides appropriate instruction.

  • Obtains patient history and clinical data for correlation with procedure; consults with physicians as necessary.

  • Organizes plans, and directs activities relating to patient services and procedures.

CT Specific Duties:

  • Directs technical aspects, recommends and implements new procedures in the CT departments to ensure optimized department workflow and exams.

  • Works with Radiologists to ensure CT protocols are built and maintained to the Radiologists’ specifications.

  • Ensures protocols and policy changes are communicated to McFarland CT technologists and all facilities associated with McFarland Clinic Radiologists.

Department Wide Expectations:

  • Recognizes emergency situations: initiates life support measures for patients as necessary.

  • Accurately maintains patient records.

  • Assumes responsibility for cleaning and supplying the area according to departmental needs.

  • Enhances professional growth through educational programs, conferences, and workshops.

  • Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.

  • Acts to constantly improve competencies of co-workers and employees to ensure the best clinical outcomes.

  • Performs related work as required.

Education

  • Completion of accredited course in Radiologic Technology or Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology.

Certification/License

  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technology certification in CT

  • Current Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) Permit to Practice.

  • Current BCLS certification.

Days: Monday - Friday, possible occasional weekends.

Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Variable hours. Some weekend hours.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years experience as CT Technologist.

  • Preferred minimum of 1 year of experience as Lead CT Technologist or supervisor.

  • Experience with CT accreditation processes, policies, and procedures.
